Our Story

This company was born out of a simple idea. We wanted to find a way for older people to be protected from injuries in case of an accidental fall and to alleviate unnecessary suffering. In 2014, We witnessed an elderly friend fall and fracture their pelvic bone, which led to an excruciating period of suffering that could have been prevented.

This led us to realize that in old age fall injuries are a very common occurrence. After looking at the data, we discovered that in our country about 400 million people over the age of 65 experience injuries from falling. Of that number, 32,000 people die from their fall injuries every year. And since fall injuries often cause bone fractures, pulmonary embolisms, infections and other problems, it severely impacts the quality of life for elderly people, affecting the lives of the whole family.

What can be done to reduce the risk of fall injuries for elderly people? Mr Songlonghai, founder of Yidaibao, decided to find a solution to this problem. Using his accumulated experience in the automotive industry designing airbags, he decided to adopt the same technology for use in personal protective equipment.

Typically when a sensor detects a sudden impact, the airbag inflates with explosive speed to protect people by cushioning the force of collision. If there was a way to accurately identify the moment when a person is about to fall down and distinguish it from regular movement, then a protective piece of clothing could reduce the force of impact by activating an airbag before the user touches the ground. This mechanism could serve as an active protection system to effectively prevent fall injuries among the elderly.

With this spark of inspiration for a new product he immediately assembled a research and development team. In a span of 5 years the team studied various airbag materials, gases used for inflation, the time for inflation and other design elements to create an innovative new wearable airbag system for elderly people. During the course of that research, they have also developed a novel algorithm to accurately predict if a sudden movement will result in a fall. This allows the airbag to be deployed within 0.18 seconds for active protection of the wearer before the ground is reached, creating a comfortable customized protection experience for elderly users.

Yidaibao protective clothing overcame many difficulties inherent in using cross-industry skills and technology from multiple fields to make everything work together. The company invited top domestic research institutes to participate in the development of the core algorithm for fall detection. It was granted patents for the invention of wearable airbag clothing and related technologies. The company succeeded in developing a solution for the active prevention of fall injuries.

In the two years since the product was launched, as Yidaibao has focused on the development of new products and upgrades in technology, our company's product and services have become widely known around the country. As Yidaibao became more widely known by the public we have opened new channels in overseas markets. We have started exporting fall prevention devices to Japan, Australia, Thailand and other countries.

In the five years since Yidaibao was founded, the product has been subjected to a lot of scrutiny and scepticism. Most of the critics say that real-time fall protection is impossible. They say that wearable airbags are impossible. They say that an algorithm for detecting the user's posture and detecting the difference between normal movement and the start of a fall is also impossible. They say that adoption of fall protection products will not be widespread. But Yidaibao has succeeded in turning all these things into reality. We receive a constant stream of feedback and gratitude from our users which has become our motivating force to continue striving and become better. In the future we will continue to manufacture our products and provide quality customer service, so that elderly people no longer have to be afraid of falling down and their children can stop worrying.
